WHO WE ARE:

Welcome to ChaBook.com. I am Professor Kemal Efe, the person totally responsible for developing and maintaining this site, good or bad, whatever you may think of it. I am using this site as a test bed for my research in the field of internet search technology.

I am grateful to the Open Directory Project and its parent company Netscape for their generosity in freely sharing their data. Data that I downloaded from the Open Directory Project constitutes the bulk of Chabook.com's repository, which I am using for the directory service as well as for the search service offered here. I am also grateful to Excite, Google, MSN, Teoma, and Yahoo! (listed in the alphabetical order, not in the order of my gratitude) for seemingly looking the other way (at least so far) while visitors of ChaBook.com have enjoyed search results partially derived from their search engines.

This site has come a long way since it first started in September 2004. It will continue to evolve as I get a chance to incorporate more and more of my research results. Exciting new features are still under development, so keep checking this site periodically. Eventually you may find a new tool or a new feature that you can't do without ever after. Providing you with such tools is the primary goal of my research.
